2015 was one of the greatest year in my personal, family and career development. To put into context, my 2014 was aimed at targeting local schools, academic-based NGOs and companies to disseminate the wealth of knowledge in DIY mechatronics, while in 2015 was geared towards presenting the outcomes through international workshops, national seminars and getting a glimpse of how internationalization works.
Although from year to year great endeavours were achieved, I never had new year’s resolutions written on a rock. My new year’s plan were normally very vague and simple, e.g. I want to contribute more in university (UMT), and as the year progresses, everything just fall into place. I always keep an open mind and adapt to the needs. People come and go pitching new ideas, where most of the project received “yes” responses from me, however sometimes I gave “no” as well, depending on the technical feasibility of the organization/function that I’m responsible to.
Forrest Gump put it nicely in 1994, “Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get”. With that, I’ll stay like this; pursuing happiness, keep an open mind, and try to adapt to the changing needs in my life. Life is dynamic, and don’t let it pass a day by without realizing that you have achieved something great.
Goodbye 2015, and welcome 2016.
